～初薬師の薬師殿から～
本日1/8(木)は、本年最初の薬師如来さまのご縁日「初薬師」。
薬師殿には、お薬師さまを守護する十二神将像が奉安されています。
川崎大師の十二神将像は十二支と関連づけられ、お姿にもその意匠が施されています。
午年の因陀羅大将（いんだらたいしょう）像をよく見ると…。
お像の頭部、兜の上に馬の姿が。
皆さまもお参りの折には、ぜひお近くでご覧になってください。
- From Yakushi den Hall during Hatsuyakushi -
Today, Thursday, January 8th, is the first Yakushi Nyorai festival day of the year, "Hatsuyakushi." Yakushiden Hall enshrines the Twelve Guardian Generals who protect Oyakushi-sama, the Medicine Buddha. The Twelve Guardian Generals at Kawasaki Daishi are associated with the zodiac signs, and their designs reflect this. If you look closely at the statue of Indara-Taisho (the Horse Year General)... you'll see the form of a horse atop the Kabuto helmet on the statue's head. When you visit the temple, please take a closer look at it.
